Graduation Mishap

Published April 28, 2014 by alexapolsdorfer

The big day has arrived. Graduation! That day was pretty frantic. Everyone was running around trying to be neat and organized, it just wasn’t happening. As everyone was lining up to enter the gym, it all went wrong from there.

The Perks of Prom!

Published March 19, 2014 by alexapolsdorfer

Every school year there are certain things students look forward to. Like football games, homecoming, and for the upper class men, PROM! Prom is that special night where girls get all fancied up and look all elegant and feel like royalty. We get our hair and make up done, wear elegant long dresses, and wear gorgeous heels that just kill our feet. But you know what they say, beauty is pain. I am  one of those girls that love prom. What could be better than getting a prettied up to dance?! In my opinion, nothing. Many people are very bitter when it comes to prom. They stress on having a date, dresses, tuxes, and picture locations. When really there is no need. You can still have fun going with just a group of your friends instead of a specific person.

To me the best part of prom is what is we call promposals. It’s basically getting “the question popped” when someone asks, will you go to prom with me? But, it’s only considered a promposal if it is creative and original. Now-a-days boys are expected to ask girls in the most creative ways, so us girls can have bragging rights. And girls already have super high expectations. And the more creative you get, you have to step-up your game (if you’re a boy) each year so you can top what you already did. And boys, you will be expected to do this up until you do pop the real question.

The Day of Love

Published February 14, 2014 by alexapolsdorfer

Every year when Valentines Day people become more and more bitter. People always complain how they’re miserable because they don’t have a “Valentine” which to me, is a bit ridiculous. In my case, I do have a Valentine yet, we aren’t doing anything special. You don’t need to have a date or be showered in gifts in order to feel special. You can always just spend it with your friends and family who probably love you more than your date would. So it’s a win win for everyone. And there should be no complaining.

Personally, I love Valentines Day. I love to see people get gifts and how happy they are. Weather it’s me or not, I love people being happy. It’s nice to see their true happiness and have a genuine smile! And when a guy makes plans for his date of a cute romantic dinner and movie, or any type of date in general, it’s adorable! It makes a girl feel super special and like they’re in a movie! But, just because you don’t have a date doesn’t mean you have to be miserable. So, just stay positive, it’s only one day and then you don’t have to worry about it for a whole year,

The Happy Children

Published December 17, 2013 by alexapolsdorfer

Right down the road from my house is an orphanage. It was a very well kept up orphanage and the children there were happy, playful, and when adults were looking to adopt, that’s the first place they would go to. This orphanage has been open for roughly 20 years and is ran by the same people. Until this year. The lady who ran the orphanage was too old to be taking care of the children because she could hardly take care of herself. So she had no choice but to retire. After that the other workers had a meeting. And at this meeting they decided to have interviews with people who had experience with running orphanages and child care. So they hired a semi-old lady named Marsha. She was fairly quiet, very calm, and had the sweetest smile you ever did she.

After a couple months of Marsha taking charge things started to change. But, no one could really put their finger on what it was exactly. The children weren’t as happy and playful as before. But what was causing this? What could it be? Another meeting was held, but Marsha was not invited. Everyone thought she was the problem. So they heard about this new robot that was made. It could tell jokes, and was great for making kids laugh and make them happy. It was the perfect solution to the problem! So all the workers put what ever money they had together to get the robot to make the kids happy again.

Getting into the christmas spirit!

Getting into the christmas spirit!

Elf the movie is an all time classic! You know when you start watching this movie it is time for Christmas! It’s a perfect mix of a comedy and a great family movie! Elf is appropriate for all ages and it’s perfect for getting into the real Christmas spirit. It’s even funny just to watch with your friends! All you need is some popcorn and chips, or some hot chocolate and sit in front of the fireplace with a nice cozy blanket! There are many ways to interpret the movie! And throughout the whole movie there are so many funny quotes that can be used! It is probably one of the most quotable movies of all time. Even the things that Will Farrell does who plays Elf does things that can be done. Whether it is as simple as walking down the street or being in the mall. This movie will always be a classic and many peoples favorite Christmas movie! I definitely recommend it to everyone! Kids and even adults will get a great laugh out of it!

Getting Into The Christmas Spirit!

Christmas is coming up shortly and that usually means we all usually have a couple things in mind like playing in the snow, baking cookies, and especially getting and giving presents! Everyone always here the famous line every year, “What do you want to for Christmas?” And my answer to that is rather simple. I told my parents that I would like a Polaroid camera. I love how unique and vintage they made pictures look. You can make many crafts with them, which you can even make for a gift for others. And the other thing I am asking for is jell-pens. They are so old yet still so much fun. They come in various colors and are plain or you can have sparkles in them. You can use them in school and they make papers and note taking not as boring. To me, giving is even better than receiving! I love knowing things that my friends and family want so bad and going and getting it for them! It’s almost like a thrill to me! Making things are even more special! It really shows that you care about someone and it shows the true meaning on Christmas! Christmas is my favorite time of the year and this is exactly why!

Over Thanksgiving it was very nice to not only get a break from school but also have the perfect recovery time from getting my tonsils out! Not having school Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday was a perfect break! You could spend time with friends and family and better yet, have lots of food! Thursday was my family Thanksgiving party. At about three o’clock in the afternoon we had left to go to Wal Mart because of the awesome deals they were having for Black Friday, even though it started on Thursday. From there I was able to go to my best friends Thanksgiving party as well! It was nice going to two Thanksgivings and shopping all in one day. From there we went to the mall to go shopping together because it’s our tradition. We left her house at about mid-night and shopped all morning and then we went and got breakfast together. It was a really fun shopping day and we had a lot of fun. Even though most of the things I bought were for myself and not my family(which was not the plan) made it even better! Because now I have to go another day to go shop. And who doesn’t love shopping?! When we got home that Friday we slept all day. And that night we met up with some friends to hang out with them. It was a lot of fun! Then of course Saturday was the big Ohio State Michigan game! Which we had a party at my house for. My family and friends were there and it was not only a great game but it was also a great time for everyone!
